Who Are The Overcomers?

1 John 5:4 KJV

4 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.

1 John 5:5 KJV

5 Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?

PETER’S CONFESSIONAL STATEMENT IS THE ROCK OF FAITH:

Matthew 16:16-18 KJV

16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.

17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.

18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

1 John 5:14-15 KJV

14 And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:

15 And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.

because every child of God overcomes the world.

Romans 8:14-17 KJV

14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.

16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:

17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.

Why The Roman Catholic Trinity and Oneness Doctrines are False

“Who do you say that I am?”

Peter replied, “ I say you are the Christ, the Son of the Living God.”

I entered the empty church, walked straight up to the priest, who seemed to be doing nothing in particular, and said “I want to be baptised”.

“Who is Jesus?”, the priest asked me. I was twenty one years old.  I had just become a believer in our Lord Jesus Christ, and on my simple reading of the New Testament I thought I ought to get baptised- so I went to the church which just happened to be on the television as I was contemplating my decision.

I looked at the priest, incredulous and somewhat taken aback – after all, this was pretty obvious I thought  (of course, I did not at the time understand his reason for asking), and I replied instantly and without hesitation or doubt, “Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God”.  After which , the priest asked me some more general questions and then gave me a date on which the next confirmation and baptismal service was being held. All very nice and very friendly.

This was an  high church of the Church of England, which I later found out followed the Nicene creed,  and of which I was embarrassed to know nothing (-had I missed something in my Bible reading? Why had I not heard about this before?). I mumbled the words as I glanced at my fellow worshippers who all seemed to know them by heart.

I stayed a regular worshipper in that church for nearly a year or two, and during that time I also visited what I now know are termed Baptist and Pentecostal churches, amongst others. I heard the topic of the Trinity in passing, and in all the churches I visited it seemed it was an established fact; Oneness was never discussed on any of my brief and sporadic visits to the Pentecostal churches and so I did not even bother to question or look into either in the light of scripture. I knew what my beliefs were and I assumed the Trinity and Oneness doctrines must be the same.

Having been a ‘born again’ Christian for over twenty five years, and continue to remain so, I can think of no more subtle and dangerous doctrines than that of the Trinity (as promulgated by the Roman Catholic church) and Oneness. Subtle, because for many new believers , the first thought is what one should do next- that is, the simple truths as recounted in the Old and New Testament are accepted, but because of the excitement, wonder, awe and anxiousness to please God, many run headlong into the first church they come across, thinking that this is what God wishes . In doing so, depending on the church, many are caught up in centuries old unscriptural beliefs which bear no resemblance to and are actually in direct conflict with the established doctrine of Jesus, the apostles and the early church of the first two centuries. Initially, because they are new to the faith, unfamiliar with the church surroundings and very trusting of other Christians, they automatically assume that what the majority is following is the true Christian faith. And herein lies the danger- becoming lax and lazy, once the senses dulled, the possibility of sliding to disaster.

I will not go into any great depths on this post  as to what the Trinity or Oneness Doctrine states- others have done this very well on the internet, I merely provide a brief description of both as follows:

The Roman Catholic Trinity doctrine:

Extract taken from the following website at http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/15047a.htm

‘The Trinity is the term employed to signify the central doctrine of the Christian religion — the truth that in the unity of the Godhead there are Three Persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, these Three Persons being truly distinct one from another.

Thus, in the words of the Athanasian Creed: “the Father is God, the Son is God, and the Holy Spirit is God, and yet there are not three Gods but one God.” In this Trinity of Persons the Son is begotten of the Father by an eternal generation, and the Holy Spirit proceeds by an eternal procession from the Father and the Son. Yet, notwithstanding this difference as to origin, the Persons are co-eternal and co-equal: all alike are uncreated and omnipotent.’

Now, RC Trinity proponents will swear that this is the gospel truth and say that although the word ‘Trinity’ may not be in the bible and was not used by Jesus or by his followers, they claim that their definition is formulated from scripture. They will tell you that if you do not believe this doctrine, you are not a member of the true church and will be eternally damned. When asked about their doctrine in more depth when compared to scripture and when pressed for explanations, they will finally agree that they do not understand their own definition, but will inform you that you should not be at all surprised, as it is not meant for Man to understand the deep things of God.

Does the image of a dog chasing its tail suddenly present itself to you? I would not be surprised if you are feeling dizzy.

Well, it’s true that the words ‘Father’, ‘Son’ and ‘Holy Spirit’ are to be found in scripture- but there ends the similarity. The Roman Catholic Trinity definition is nothing but a nonsensical statement, full of contradiction and shockingly bad math, which is not only unsupported in the Bible, it is in direct opposition to the Bible. And what is even more hypocritical, is that in practice, RC Trinity proponents give Jesus the title of God Almighty and/or Yahweh as and when it suits them, but somehow do not give Jesus the title of ‘Father’, as they think this would negate their definition of ‘Father’, ‘Son’, and ‘Holy Spirit’ as three persons being distinct from each other (which it would); whereas they seem to think that giving Jesus the title of Almighty God or Yahweh does not! The mind boggles. A classic example is when they say Jesus is God Almighty because he said ‘I and the Father are one’ (when in fact he meant of ‘one accord’, and not the same person!) and then ignore their own definition of the Trinity which states that the Father cannot be the same person as the Son.

Similarly, in practice, the Oneness proponents are also confused by their own terminology and use the terms God the Father and Son interchangeably, saying that they are the same. They cannot make up their minds who is who.

The net effect?

The Devil has achieved his aim.

Both nullify the Father and the Son.

Now get this!

1 John 2:22-23 KJV:

22 Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.

23 Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also.

Make no mistake, saying that the Father God Almighty is the Son, is to deny them both! Instead a false God is created. The Triune God is a false God.

Why not check things out for yourself? Your life depends on it.

Therefore, brothers and sisters, I would remind you of the true Christian faith, with some key passages from both the Old and New Testament. Please pray to God for discernment as you read them. Always remember, that the passages presented here are clear unambiguous statements taken from the Bible, which cannot be refuted. Indeed, the same theme runs through the entire Old and New Testament, including the Book of Revelation. The prophets, Jesus and the apostles clearly refute the RC Trinity and Oneness doctrines. However, you will find the key passages used by the proponents of the RC Trinity Doctrines and Oneness  are almost always taken out of context and/ ambiguous/doubtful statements with several translation possibilities based on wishful thinking- the playground of the Devil.

From the scripture passages which follow -and please verify this for yourselves,  we can say that:

Jesus said that the Father is the One true God. Jesus also said that  he (Jesus) is the Christ, the Messiah, the Son of God. He was sent by God to mankind in human form to reconcile mankind to God. Jesus Christ, being the Son of God, is a god because of his divine origin, just as he is a man as he also called himself the Son of Man, but he is not the Father, God Almighty. Jesus said that he is not as great as the Father, and that the Father is his God. Jesus said that he must not tempt the Lord his God. Jesus is the suffering servant of God. Jesus said that God’s Spirit dwells in Jesus and that God dwelling in Jesus performed the miracles. Jesus said he is to be honoured just as the Father is honoured. Jesus said   whoever sees Jesus, sees the Father who sent him. Jesus said whoever hears the words of Jesus hears the words of the father who sent him. Jesus and the Father are of one accord. Jesus prayed to the Father that Jesus followers would also be of one accord with himself and the Father. Jesus said he is the Son of God, not God himself. Jesus cannot be God the Father because he chose to follow God’s will and prayed that he followed God’s will and not his own. Jesus and the Father cannot be one and the same because he said that he testified about his Father and that his Father testified about him and that Jewish Law required the testimony of two witnesses.

God is our Father and Jesus is our Lord. God the Father raised Jesus from the dead, so that all who believe in Jesus will have eternal life. Jesus is God’s sacrificial Lamb who paid for our sins with his life, the punishment due to us instead fell on him, because he chose to follow God’s  will, not his own. Jesus is God’s High Priest. The head of the Church is Christ and the head of Christ is God Jesus now reigns in heaven at God’s right hand, and will return with God the Father on Judgement Day.

As Christians, we are the adopted children of God, and by consequence therefore, we may also be called ‘gods’, as God resides in us and by his Spirit we cry ‘Abba’, ‘Father’-God’s own Spirit joins with ours- but we  are less mighty. We are co-heirs with Christ.

Passages from the Bible disproving the RC Trinity and Oneness doctrines

Firstly, let us acknowledge the fact that the Father never said that He is the Son, and the Son never said that he is the Father. Never. Not once. This is extremely important.

Moses said:

Deuteronomy 18:15 KJV

The LORD (YHWH) thy God will raise up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him ye shall hearken;

John 1:18 NJB

18 No one has ever seen God; it is the only Son, who is close to the Father’s heart, who has made him known.

Jesus Pre-existence:

John 1:30 NJB

30 It was of him that I said, “Behind me comes one who has passed ahead of me because he existed before me.”

John 6:38 KJV

For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.

John 5:30 KJV

I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgement is just; because I seek  not mine own will but the will of the Father which hath sent me.

Psalm 110:1-5 NJB

1 Yahweh declared to my Lord, ‘Take your seat at my right hand, till I   have made your enemies your footstool.’
2 Yahweh will stretch out the sceptre of your power; from Zion you will   rule your foes all around you.
3 Royal dignity has been yours from   the day of your birth, sacred honour from the womb, from the dawn of your   youth.
4 Yahweh has sworn an oath he will never retract, you are a priest for   ever of the order of Melchizedek.
5 At your right hand, Lord, he   shatters kings when his anger breaks out.

THEREFORE THE FATHER AND SON CANNOT BE ONE AND THE SAME PERSON

Instead, Jesus said:

 John 17:3 KJV

And this is life eternal, that they may know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.

John 12:44-45 KJV

Jesus cried and said, He that believeth on me, believeth  not on me, but on him who sent me. And he that  seeth me, seeth him that sent me.

This is what Jesus meant in:

 John 14:8-9 KJV

8 Philip saith unto him, Lord, show us the Father, and it sufficeth us.

9 Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Show us the Father?

Jesus did not mean that Philip had actually seen God the Father, or that Jesus is the Father, but that Jesus represented the Father’s image and nature. Please see the context as in John 12:44-45 KJV above.

John 14:1 KJV

Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.

John  5:22-37 KJV

22 For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son:

23 That all men should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that honoureth not the Son honoureth not the Father which hath sent him.

24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.

25 Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live.

26 For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself (ie given the Son authority);

27 And hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man.

28 Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice,

29 And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.

30 I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.

31 If I bear witness of myself, my witness is not true.

32 There is another that beareth witness of me; and I know that the witness which he witnesseth of me is true.

33 Ye sent unto John, and he bare witness unto the truth.

34 But I receive not testimony from man: but these things I say, that ye might be saved.

35 He was a burning and a shining light: and ye were willing for a season to rejoice in his light.

36 But I have greater witness than that of John: for the works which the Father hath given me to finish, the same works that I do, bear witness of me, that the Father hath sent me.

THE CLINCHER:

37 And the Father himself, which hath sent me, hath borne witness of me. Ye have neither heard his voice at any time, nor seen his shape.

Please note that to honour someone as the Father does not mean that person IS the Father- they are two separate individuals.

Matthew 10:32-33 KJV

32 Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven.

33 But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.

JESUS SPEAKING IN REVELATION:
JESUS HAS A GOD

Revelation 3:12 KJV

12 Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name.

Revelation 3:21 KJV

21 To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.

Revelation 5:13 KJV

13 And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever.

John 1:29-36 KJV

29 The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.

30 This is he of whom I said, After me cometh a man which is preferred before me: for he was before me.

31 And I knew him not: but that he should be made manifest to Israel, therefore am I come baptizing with water.

32 And John bare record, saying, I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it abode upon him.

33 And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost.

34 And I saw, and bare record that this is the Son of God.

35 Again the next day after John stood, and two of his disciples;

36 And looking upon Jesus as he walked, he saith, Behold the Lamb of God!

1 Peter 1:19 KJV

19 But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:

1 Peter 2:4-6 KJV

4 To whom coming, as unto a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, and precious,

5 Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.

6 Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded.

1 Peter 2:23 KJV

23 Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously:

1 Peter 3:21-22 KJV

21 The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ:

22 Who is gone into heaven, and is on the right hand of God; angels and authorities and powers being made subject unto him.

Acts 5:30-32 KJV

30 The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom ye slew and hanged on a tree.

31 Him hath God exalted with his right hand to be a Prince and a Saviour, for to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins.

32 And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him.

1 Thessalonians 1:9-10 KJV

9 For they themselves shew of us what manner of entering in we had unto you, and how ye turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God;

10 And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come.

GOD DWELLS IN JESUS

John 14:10 KJV

10 Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.
 Romans 8:15-17 KJV

15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.

16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:

17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.

FURTHER IRREFUTABLE PROOF THAT THE RC TRINITY DOCTRINE IS FALSE

This one will either have the proponents of the RC Trinity and Oneness doctrines making a hasty retreat and exit from the debate or induce a severe case of amnesia, disbelief, head scratching and even anger as they fail to understand the significance:

1 Corinthians 15:23-28. KJV

23 But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ’s at his coming.

24 Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power.

25 For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet.

26 The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.

27 For he hath put all things under his feet. But when he saith all things are put under him, it is manifest that he is excepted, which did put all things under him.

28 And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all.

Jesus and the Father cannot be the same:

John 8:16-18 KJV

16 And yet if I judge, my judgment is true: for I am not alone, but I and the Father that sent me.

17 It is also written in your law, that the testimony of two men is true.

18 I am one that bear witness of myself, and the Father that sent me beareth witness of me.

Matthew 26:39 KJV

39 And he went a little farther, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.

Matthew 27:46 KJV

46 And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?

John 17:1-3 KJV

17 These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee:

2 As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him.

3 And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.

John 5:19 KJV

19 Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.

Matthew 26:53 KJV

Do you think I cannot call on my Father and he will at once put at my disposal more than 12 legions of angels?
Matthew 20:20-23 KJV

It is not mine to grant but is for those for whom it has been prepared by my Father.

 John 20:17 KJV

Touch me not, for I am not yet ascended to my Father…I ascend unto my Father and your Father and to my God and your God.

John 14:28 KJV

I  go unto the Father, for my Father is greater than I.

Mark 10:17-18 KJV
Why do you call me good? No one is good except God alone.

Matthew 3:17 KJV
And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

1 Corinthians 8:4-6 KJV

And that is none other God but one. For though there be that are called gods, whether in heaven or in earth, but to us there is but one God, the Father of whom are all things and we in him, and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things and we by him.

1 Corinthians 11:3 KJV

But I would have you know that the head of every man is Christ and the head of the woman is the man and the head of Christ is God.

1 Timothy 2:5 KJV

For there is one God and one mediator between God and man, the man Christ Jesus.

Galatians 3:20 KJV

A mediator is not a mediator of one, but God is One.

2 Corinthians 1:3 KJV
Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and the God of all comfort.

1 Peter 1:3 KJV
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

John 3:16,18 KJV

That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life

He that believeth on him is not condemned but he that believeth not is condemned already because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

Mark 10:18 KJV

18 And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God.

Mark 13:32 KJV

32 But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father.

Matthew 20:23 KJV

23 And he saith unto them, Ye shall drink indeed of my cup, and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with: but to sit on my right hand, and on my left, is not mine to give, but it shall be given to them for whom it is prepared of my Father.

Jesus and the Father are of one accord:

John 10:30-36 KJV

30 I and my Father are one.

31 Then the Jews took up stones again to stone him.

32 Jesus answered them, Many good works have I shewed you from my Father; for which of those works do ye stone me?

33 The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God.

34 Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods?

35 If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken;

36 Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of God?

Jesus tells satan that he would not tempt the Lord God:

Matthew 4:5-8 KJV

5 Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple,

6 And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.

7 Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.

8 Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them;

Even the demons believed in one God and that Jesus is the son of God:

James 2:19 KJV

19 Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble

Mark 5:7 KJV

7 And cried with a loud voice, and said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of the most high God? I adjure thee by God, that thou torment me not.

Luke 8:28 KJV

28 When he saw Jesus, he cried out, and fell down before him, and with a loud voice said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God most high? I beseech thee, torment me not.

John 14:28 KJV

28 Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I.

John 20:17 KJV

17 Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God.

Colossians 1:15 KJV

15 Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:

1 Peter 1:3 KJV

3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

1 Timothy 2:5 KJV

5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;

Hebrews 4:14-15 KJV

14 Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession.

15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.

Hebrews 5:1 KJV

5 For every high priest taken from among men is ordained for men in things pertaining to God, that he may offer both gifts and sacrifices for sins:

Hebrews 5:5-10 KJV

5 So also Christ glorified not himself to be made an high priest; but he that said unto him, Thou art my Son, to day have I begotten thee.

6 As he saith also in another place, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.

7 Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that he feared;

8 Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered;

9 And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;

10 Called of God an high priest after the order of Melchisedec.

John 7:14-16 KJV

14 Now about the midst of the feast Jesus went up into the temple, and taught.

15 And the Jews marvelled, saying, How knoweth this man letters, having never learned?

16 Jesus answered them, and said, My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me.

Romans 10:9 KJV

That if thou confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, you shalt be saved.

Ephesians 1:17,20 NJB

May the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, give you a spirit of wisdom and perception of what is revealed, to bring you to full knowledge of him.
…Eph 1:20 NJB…the power which he exercised in raising him from the dead and enthroning him at his right hand, in heaven

JESUS THE SUFFERING SERVANT:

ISAIAH 53:4-12 KJV

4 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.

5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord (YHWH) hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.

7 He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.

8 He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken.

9 And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth.

10 Yet it pleased the Lord (YHWH) to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the Lord (YHWH) shall prosper in his hand

11 He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities.

12 Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.
